I installed my first electric fence six years ago. The collars of that first set failed after 5 years and were no longer produced. I had to buy the next model that would work with my original transmitter. These collars went yhrough the batteries in a quarter of the time and then started shocking my dogs even though they were not near the fence, just sitting by my side. , yes the same mfg of this set, replaced these collars without question, but when the new replacements did the same thing I had enough. This model of collar is poorly designed, IMO. I purchased this kit for the cost of two if those collars. I was able to use the fence I already had and installed this transmitter in a matter of minutes. The new collars have worked without issue since. Time will tell if they will last as long as the original, which I still would rate highly.The only reason I stayed with the brand is because they have always stood behind thier products, they just produced a bad model and I was not going to keep replacing collars only to have my dogs shocked errently again. It took a lot for me to install the fence originally but quickly realized how much safer my dogs were once installed and the dogs were trained.
