This saved our lives. We were using a tie out on our 8 month old foxhound until we could decide if we should get an inground wired fence, a wireless fence, or a real fence for our property. We weren't fans of the idea of shocking our pup. But boy does it work. My husband tested the collar on himself first, it's more of the static shock you get if you touch a metal object after shiffling your feet on thr floor. The device has adjustable settings.
