I have a Bischon/Maltese mix, who is a barker whenever he goes outdoors. I've tried many interventions to little avail. I've used a collar with a remote but I was only able to activate it after my dog barked. If I was fast enough to press the remote it did stop the barking. However, the corrections were very inconsistent as sometimes I was distracted and did not notice that my pup had gone out the doggie door. I purchased this collar and am pleasantly surprised how well it is working to stop nuisance barking. My dog responded to it immediately as he's startled by the beep.I trust he will continue to respond to the correction. I like that the collar is lightweight, so my dog can wear it during the day without any problem. It is sturdy and easy to activate and a real plus is it is rechargeable. I use the beep and vibration and am glad I don't have to use the shock function to quiet my dog....

We don't need to shock him unless he doesn't want to.I would recommend this product to anyone.

I have a very annoying barking GSD and i wanted a device that would automatically correct his barking without me having to use a remote. So I bought this.At first, I read the instructions, and it said to test the device by "barking" into the device using your voice. It never worked. But I strapped it onto my dog nonetheless. My dog's barking SOMETIMES triggered this device, and it was never consistent. So I got in touch with the seller and they recommended sending me a different product, I assumed a remote shock collar, which I did not want because it meant I had to manually trigger the device every time my dog barked. I wanted to try the same prduct again because the reviews were so good and I believed I just ended up with a defect. So they sent me another replacement, and this time it was triggered by my voice !!! just as it should. I "barked" into the device, and it triggered the device better (not all the time) than my first one. And it definitely works on my dog.The improvement of my dog is night and day.For users who are wary of shocking their dog, I don't use the shock feature, just beep and vibrate, and it still corrects my GSD. So if you are worried about shock feature, you DO NOT have to use it, which is good since it gives the user an option....

our dogs quit barking right away. just the beep and vibration was enough we didn't need to use the shock mode. they've only had them a week and even with the collars off they have stopped

We have tried 2 other collars. One with a remote, not good because not constant so dog is confused.Another that was not effective. This one works well with very easy to see and change settings. We have lived with her waking us up over a squirrel and everything or everyone she sees move. She learned quickly on low setting.

I recently adopted an 11 year old dog and I was told the previous owner used a bark collar on him. This dog DOES bark a lot--when left alone, when out in the yard, in the car while driving, etc. Some of it was anxiety, which is much better now, but a lot of it is excitement which is fine, but not in your ear. It's been tough to train him because he has a lot of hearing loss. So I got this collar and set it for it's loudest setting for the beep and for vibration--I don't need the shock setting at all! It works like a charm! Since he obviously had previous experience with a bark collar, he knows when this goes on to limit the barking or whining. He can usually get out one bark or low whine and then he stops. He's learning to do all kinds of fun stuff with us now as long as he limits his barking. It's a win win for all of us. It holds it's charge QUITE a long time--we camped for 5 days and he wore it during the days--had plenty of charge left when we got home. It's easy to figure out the settings and the display is clear and easy to read. Easy to charge--just make sure you use the cord that comes with it, it's a little different (longer plug) than a typical micro usb. The only negative I've found is that when he does a big head shake (he's got long floppy ears) I can hear it go off. But since I've only got it set for vibration and tone, that's ok. It will also go off if he's wearing it when sticking his head out window--the sensors are getting pretty windblown--at about 55 mph--makes sense. It's not very frequent either. I would DEFINITELY recommend this, especially using only vibration/tone. :)...
